More and more...

More high schools keep signing up to broadcast their live high school sports on YouCastr. A little while ago, we had a phone call with a sports broadcaster in Washington who's prepping for his school's online broadcasting. Coincidentally, just moments earlier, another school in Washington had just signed up to do get started with the live broadcasting of their high school games too. These new high schools keep coming from everywhere -- it's pretty awesome.

First Shot - Success!

This past Friday, Coachfour began broadcasting his local high school sports with his Palmyra Panthers basketball game as they took on Monroe City High School.  He put a lot of effort into getting the game on the air, as it took a fair amount of preparation, as well as several attempts to get permission from the school board.  They liked the idea of the free service they could give to the community, so they gave it a go.   Using Friday's broadcast as a test, he had some board members listening in to the live broadcasting, with the play-by-play going very well.  He was able to use Skype and cell phones to help broadcast through the game, located in an area of weak Internet connectivity.  Overall, the broadcast went well and Palmyra will continue their live high school sports in the future.

Future of HS Broadcasting

With winter break coming to an end across the country, high school sports seasons are getting back into full swing, with several more high schools every day realizing the benefits of getting their games on YouCastr.  To get the audio broadcasts of live high school sports on the Internet, it's entirely free and easy to do.  Once on, our experience has shown that friends, family, alumni, and all the rest of the fans have been known to enjoy the interactive features like live chat and live polling, which makes it more fun to follow the local teams they truly care about.

In the upcoming weeks, we'll continue to improve our offerings in support of broadcasting high school sports.  With the coming implementation of live video, the potential to broadcast and follow high school sports will be taken to another level.  We'll continue to keep you up-to-date on what's to come, but as we're continuing to shape our offering, it'd be extremely helpful if you could take a quick minute to respond to our student survey if you follow high school sports, or our broadcaster survey if you are likely to broadcast high school sports on the Internet.   And if you have any questions or feedback on what's to come, email me at kkeller@youcastr.com.
